2011 Admission of Master of Fine Arts in Applied Arts and Crafts Design Started in BIFT


Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education that graduate program should be transferred from research-oriented education into application-oriented education, the admission of Master of Fine Arts in Applied Arts and Crafts (Personnel Training Pilot Project) will be started in BIFT in 2011, which is supported by Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education and Beijing Arts and Crafts Association.

By collaborating with master craftsman studios and arts & crafts production enterprises or institutions in Beijing, the program engages several master craftsmen with reputed virtue and accomplishments as advisors and introduces the training of traditional handicraft art which is presently faces the danger of diminishing into higher education. In addition, it is a new mode carried out by BIFT to cultivate the “application-oriented graduate”.  Needless to say, BIFT is taking the lead in exploring how to cultivate the high-level arts and crafts personnel, which will finally promote the overall quality of the personnel in the flourishing industry of arts and crafts.
