Two New Halls in BIFT's Ethnic Costumes Museum Opened, Respectively Featuring the Han Nationality Costumes and the Whole Set of Costume and Uniform Designs for the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics

On Oct.14 2009, two new halls in BIFT's Ethnic Costumes Museum opened, respectively featuring the Han Nationality costumes and a complete set of costume and uniform designs for the Beijing Olympics and Paralympics. The Han Costumes Hall showcases almost all kinds of exquisite attire and accessories popular throughout different times and places in China. In addition, the Olympic Costumes and Uniforms Hall houses a complete collection of BIFT's serial designs for the Olympic costumes and uniforms and as well as relevant documents. The opening of the two halls further enhances the museum's work of collecting and exhibiting and extends the area of the museum from 1600 square meters to 2000 square meters, with the original 5 halls enlarged to 7. This inspiring evolution provides richer resources for teaching, learning and researching. As a result, BIFT's Ethnic Costumes Museum has been labeled “Beijing Traditional Culture Base” and “Beijing Science Popularization Base”.
